Baby Luke

You may remember my prior post about Drew's palate follow-up appointment where I was introduced to a couple expecting their first child, which they had been told had a complete cleft lip. They were able to meet Drew and ask me questions about his experience. I have been in touch with Michelle (the mom) and just found out today that their baby boy was born on September 12th. His palate was fine and he only has an incomplete cleft lip (instead of complete as they had originally thought)! Michelle shared some pictures with me and said it was OK for me to post them. I'm hoping I can talk her into starting a blog soon...

Anyway, isn't little Luke CUTE!

Please leave some comments so Michelle can see what a great blogging family we are :)

15 Month Check-Up

Today, Jon and I took Drew in for his 15-month check-up. Here are his stats...

Weight: 23 lbs 7.2 oz
Length: 31.5"
(At 12 months, he was 22 lbs 1.3 oz and 31".)

Everything went well, but they weren't too happy that he wasn't walking yet...She actually said that if he isn't walking well in a month and a half that we should go see a physical therapist! I don't think we'll have to worry about that though because he is getting a lot braver and taking four or five steps at a time now!! It shouldn't be long now (hopefully)...

Neighborhood Block Party

Yesterday, Colten came over to play with Drew. Here they are playing with the zebra toy.

Today was our neighborhood block party and the weather was perfect! Drew enjoyed the deviled eggs, cheesy potatoes, baked beans, and fruit salad.

It's My Birthday!

Today is my birthday! I am now officially "in my thirties..." Yep, I'm 31! But it's not that bad - I have a wonderful husband, wonderful son, wonderful friends, wonderful family, and I work at a wonderful place!

My day consisted of going to work for a couple of hours and then heading to Carbondale to recruit at SIU's accounting career fair. I went a little early so I could do some shopping first! Then I met Dana for lunch at Panera Bread (aka Bread Co. to my StL friends). The career fair was for four hours, but I only stayed for two so I could get home in time to go out to dinner with Jon and Drew. Then we came back home to open presents and have cake. Jon did GREAT on my present this year -- he got me a new point and shoot camera (along with a basket of goodies from one of my fav stores, Dream Baskets). We bought a digital SLR camera for Christmas last year, but I had been wanting a new small one to carry in my purse and that is what he bought me!!

How cute are we? :)

First time he ever had pizza -- needless to say, he liked it :)

He was probably remembering his birthday and thinking, "I know what to do with cake!"

Dinner with the Girls

Drew decided it was fun to play under the table on Saturday...

Saturday night, me and some of my girlfriends went out to dinner to celebrate with Braci, who is expecting her second baby (a boy!) at the end of this month. After dinner, we came back to my house for dessert and presents!

Here we all are: Dana, Shelly, Braci, Loni, and me. Our friend Janice was also at dinner, but had to head back home so she missed the group pictures! Oh, and Shelly and Loni are pregnant too!!!

Braci's little girl Kesli joined us in this shot!

Candice, Colby, and the Cardinals

Jon was an usher in Colby and Candice's wedding, so Friday night we went to their rehearsal and dinner. I was kind of proud of a few of the pics I took at the rehearsal. Especially this one of the groom's mom and her granddaughter -- so sweet!!!

The beautiful Ohio river!

The soon-to-be Mr. and Mrs.

Drew and Kesli at the rehearsal dinner

Saturday was their big day and they had the best weather for an outdoor ceremony!

Today, me, Jon, and our friends Bric and Rachel went to a Cardinal's game. They won and we even got to see Albert hit a home run!

Mexican Night!

For dinner tonight, I made tacos, refried beans, and cheesy rice. It was the first time Drew had any of these foods and he liked them all!

Who said you had to eat with a spoon???

Labor Day Weekend - Sunday and Monday Activities

Sunday was a busy day. First, we went to Aunt Dar's for a cookout.

Here is a face I see a lot of...Drew pulling up to me wanting to be picked up!

Then we went to our friend's Brian and Shelly's house. Drew really liked all the wildlife in their basement :) (He has his jammies on in these pics...)

Today, we went to Raleigh's first birthday party. Her grandpa is the Partner-in-Charge at the office I work at. I have seen many pictures of her, but today was the first time I actually met her! She is even prettier than her pictures!

Drew, checking out her balloons.

Isn't she so pretty?

I tried to get a good pic of them together...but this was the best I could do!
