Drew's 3rd Birthday Party

Dear Drew ~ After celebrating your actual birthday on Friday, we had a family party for you on Saturday. It was a dinosaur theme because you love dinosaurs right now!




We had the party at 11:00am this year and first on the agenda was opening presents!




A very special gift...a handmade quilt by your late great-great-grandma Dodson:




Then it was time to eat lunch...


...and, of course, to have cupcakes for dessert!




Here is a picture I have been wanting to get for a while...it is you with all (but one) of your grandparents!!

Can it be? Drew is THREE!!!

Dear Drew - On Friday, June 25th, you turned 3 years old! You woke up in a great mood so I was glad I had my camera handy!



After breakfast, we headed to Sear's for pictures. We hadn't been there since you were 18 months old and that was NOT a good experience so my expectations were not too high...BUT, you did great and I got the cheesy picture with the big number "3" that I wanted along with lots of other cute ones!





After lunch and a nice long nap, we played outside while we waited for daddy to get home from work. The tractor that we got you for your birthday last year...that you wouldn't ride...well, it's now one of your favorite toys!



After daddy got home, it was time to open the presents from us!


I think your favorite thing was the singing Shrek card!!




Before cake, I had to get your picture in your "3" hat, which you also wore on your first and second birthdays.


Finally time for cake!



It was a great day and I get a little emotional knowing that you are now another year older. As cliche as this may sound, I love you more and more everyday and can't even begin to imagine what our lives would be like without you in it -- you bring a million smiles a day to my face and I can't wait to see what God has in store for you in the coming year (other than becoming a big brother...)!

Birthday Week Begins!

It's hard to believe that on Friday, Drew will be 3 years old! To start off the week right, we had a little birthday party for him at daycare. I took cupcakes and juice boxes and Drew's class full of boys really enjoyed it! But from the looks of it, I think Drew enjoyed his cupcake the most!!

A Big Catch-Up Post of Lots of Random Stuff!

I have been a bad blogger lately, so I thought I'd go through my pics and do a little catching up!

At the end of April, we attended a friend's 40th birthday party. They had a DJ and Drew had a blast! I felt bad, though, because when we got home, I found that he had blisters on his little heels from dancing and running around so much! His favorite person to play with? Little Gabby!


Our 5th Anniversary was extra special this year because my little brother Colby also graduated from high school on that day!


Drew got another hair cut in May! I get a little sad every time we get it cut because it always makes him looks older! But he was definitely due for one! Before...


And after!


At the end of May, I had a fun girl's day -- it was a bachelorette party for Angie! I'm the really pale one...wow my friends are tan!!


On June 2nd, we went to our first circus! It was nothing too fancy but Drew really loved the ponies, elephants, camels, puppies, tigers, and lions!



Last weekend was SUPER busy. On Friday, we went to our cousin Carter's birthday party.

Then Saturday was a baby shower for my cousin Dena who is expecting Baby Avery later this month!

After the shower, we headed to Jared and Angie's wedding. It was perfect weather for an outdoor wedding at the river!


Then it was off to the reception, where Drew (again!) had a blast dancing and chasing the little girls around. I think I'm starting to see a pattern here...



Hopefully I won't get this behind again!!

A Very Special Mother's Day!

Yes, I’m a little late on this post, but here goes anyway…

This Mother’s Day was very special! It started with Mom, Bobby, Colby, & Whitney coming to our church so they could see Drew’s Parent/Child/Church dedication. It was really nice. They put his picture up on the big screen and we stood up on stage while they announced all of the other kids. Then Drew was presented with a little bible and a certificate.


After church, we headed back to our house for some pictures.

Then it was time for a cook-out. Mama Mary Kay, Mama Lorene, and Uncle Kevin met us at the house. We all enjoyed Jon’s grilled burgers – yum!

I can’t believe that next year I will be celebrating Mother’s Day with TWO little boys :)
