Trick-or-Treat Round 1

The town we live in had trick-or-treating tonight. We took Drew to Nan and Pop's and Aunt Dar's then came back to our house to pass out candy. Drew really liked looking at all the kids in their cute (and sometimes scary) costumes. Although he wasn't too sure about some of them...

I also couldn't resist posting a couple of pictures from Halloween last year...

Chuck E. Cheese's

We took Drew to Chuck E. Cheese's for the first time on Monday night. He was amazed by everything! Here is the "pointing series" of pics!!

The next morning was our family picture session! Clary was super nice and the location she chose for us was beautiful! However, it was COLD! Plus, I had to wake Drew up an hour and a half earlier than he is use too, which in turn meant he didn't eat much breakfast. To top things off, he had a really runny nose -- probably caught something at Chuck E. Cheese's!!! So, take a cold, snotty, sleepy, hungry baby to get family pics and what do you get? Well, let's just say that he wasn't his normal smiley self, but we had fun and I'm sure there will be some great shots! We will definitely go back to Clary, but next time I'm thinking July when it's nice and warm!!

Monkey Drew!

So, the family pictures are Tuesday, and I found out that it is going to be COLD! The high for the day is only 51 and the low is 31. Our pictures are at 10am so it is going to be freezing (they are outside...I wanted "fall colors"...)!!! I'm not much on cold weather, but I'm trying to look on the bright side -- at least it isn't suppose to rain!

Second of all, Drew turned 16 months old on Saturday!!!

Saturday night was the Halloween party at my old school, so me, Jon, Drew, Whitney, Mom, and Bobby all went. Drew had funny seeing all the kids dressed up and playing games!

His costume got hot, so he changed into this!

I've Been Tagged!

So here goes -- I've been tagged by Janeen!
  1. I grew up in a VERY small town -- no stoplights, no Wal-Mart, no chain restaurants, etc. In fact, the closest McD's was 30 miles away. Living in a small town meant I also went to a small school. I actually attended the same school for my entire K-12 education. It was a county school that all three towns went to. I had about 70 people in my graduating class which meant that not only did I know everyone in my grade, but also almost everyone in the high school! (BTW - I now live in that town that has the McD's!!!)

  2. I have a much younger brother and sister, even though my mom and step-dad have been married since I was 4. I was a freshman in high school when my brother was born and a senior when my sister came along. So I knew a few things about babies before Drew. I actually got in a lot of practice washing bottles and stain sticking clothes!

  3. I have a bachelors and masters degree in accounting and actually chose "accounting" as want I wanted to do when I was a freshman in high school because one of the "cool seniors" I knew was going into accounting. Who would have ever thought it would have stuck?
  4. After graduating from college, me and my best friend (since 3rd grade) moved to St. Louis and lived right down town by the Arch. Isn't that something best friends always talk about doing? Well, we actually did it!! I worked for PricewaterhouseCoopers, which is the worlds biggest accounting firm. I did tax consulting projects and got to travel all over the United States! It was a fun 3+ years, but I knew it wasn't something I wanted to do forever.
  5. I'm left handed (as is Jon's mom and my aunt). I'm secretly hoping that Drew is left handed too and that maybe he'll be the next big league left handed pitcher!!!

  6. Jon and I met during the summer of 2000 and were "just friends" until we started dating in early 2001. I had already accepted my job in St. Louis and started working there in September 2001. The whole time I lived there, he would either drive up to StL to visit me on weekends, or I would come back home. He proposed to me in August 2004 and I moved back to my mom and step-dad's in December 2004, and then we were married in May 2005. So, this proves that you can make a long distance relationship work!!
  7. I'm a super picky eater. I've never drank iced tea, I've never eaten a tomato (unless spaghetti sauce counts), I like my sandwiches plain (Subway loves me!), I never had a salad until college, and the only thing other than meat that I like on my pizza is mushrooms! I will say that I've gotten better at trying things though...

I'm suppose to tag 7 others, but after taking out all the bloggers Janeen picked, and all the people they have tagged, I don't think I can come up with that many, so I'm tagging anyone that reads this that wants to play along!!

As a side note, I wrote this post week, but am just now getting around to posting it and I noticed that Heather and I have a couple of things in common!! (Oh, and Heather, I don't write all wierd either so that makes two of us!!)

I Need Your Help Please!

OK-Jon, Drew, and I are having family pics taken next Tuesday with the very talented Clary Pfeiffer (http://www.clary.typepad.com/) and I need your help in deciding what we should wear. (Keep in mind that Jon and I may get some pics taken by ourselves too.) Please "vote" for your favorite!! (Also, I have the blue sweater w/cream tank on in my post below.)

Choice #1:
Jon: Cream sweater
Krissy: Brown sweater w/cream tank (not in picture)
Drew: Stripped sweater

Choice #2:
Jon: Cream sweater
Krissy: Brown sweater w/light blue (or cream?) tank
Drew: Blue, brown, orange, cream polo

Choice #3:
Jon: Dark brown sweater
Krissy: Blue sweater w/brown (or cream?) tank
Drew: Same polo as above

Choice #4:
Jon: Cream sweater
Krissy: Blue sweater w/brown (or cream?) tank
Drew: Same polo as above.

Or are there any other combinations I haven't thought of??? lol :)

Ducks Unlimited

Jon is the Chairman of our local chapter of Ducks Unlimited and their annual fundraising banquet was Saturday night. It has kept us both very busy! Add that to me having to go out of town Wednesday - Friday for training and you can imagine how crazy things have been around here!

The banquet was a success and a lot of fun! My mom, grandma, and sister came and brought Drew. He had a great time and when Jon held him up in front of everyone, he started waving -- it was SO CUTE! Here are some pics...

[On a side note, the necklace I am wearing was made by my friend Christie, who makes unbelievably beautiful stuff!! http://www.neckletsjewelry.com/]

And here is what we ended up buying. It matches Drew's furniture almost exactly and we'll probably use it as a toy chest later on. Right now, though, it's in the spare bedroom.

Drew Walks!!

Something must have clicked today because I think I can officially say that Drew is walking! I counted 23 steps one time!! Here is some video... Please ignore my silly voice (do I really sound like that??). He was getting kind of tired, so he has a melt down at the end, but I don't know how to edit videos, so enjoy him walking...and melting down...

{Wink, Wink}

Last night as Jon was feeding Drew his nighttime snack, he had me come in there to see Drew's new trick. Jon was winking and Drew was trying to wink too! We laughed so hard!! All of these pics are Drew's attempt at winking...

Something else funny...tonight, after Drew's bath, I found a paci that has been in his drawer forever. Drew has never taken a paci other than a few times before his first surgery and that was when we had to hold it in for him. Well, tonight, he loved it!!!! It took him a while to "figure it out" but once he did, he couldn't get enough of it! I thought it might help strengthen his jaw muscles and make him swallow more so he wouldn't slobber so much, but after seeing the fit he threw when I took it away, I don't think I'll be giving it back. Doesn't he look cute though??

Parade Time!

I think Drew looks so cute in his little PJ's. Here he is with one of his favorite books!

And here's an action shot!!! Go Drew go!

Today was the annual parade in my hometown. Drew had a great time and didn't even flinch at the loud sirens or bands!

Drew and Uncle Colby:
My sister and her softball team were in the parade:
"Look at all my candy!!!"

I love this one of Drew and Whitney!!
After the parade, we walked to the park, which is right on the Ohio river.

The slide: Whitney looks scared and Drew looks like he is having the time of his life! Note my mom on the right ready to catch him!

Getting ready to ride a ride...

Playing games!

On a different note, I thought the moms of Drew's cleft friends might be interested in this pic. Drew and Jon were playing in the floor and I took this pic and later realized that you could see his repaired palate really good in it!

Here was his palate before surgeryy:
